Thirty years ago today, BNIs Founder Ivan Misner put together a dozen people in a small coffee shop in Arcadia, California for the very first meeting of BNI®. Says Misner: . . . I am humbled by the fact that today, (BNI) has over 7,000 chapters in 60 countries with over 170,000 members worldwide. This global phenomenon is a testament to the philosophy of Givers Gain®. Every week in thousands of communities around the world, we have tens of thousands of people helping one another build their business and support each other. I want to thank the many BNI members for their commitment to each other, to the Givers Gain philosophy, and to this organization. Without you and your commitment, we would not be the organization that we are. I look forward to many more amazing years of BNI. Though today is BNIs official 30th anniversary date, the entire organiazation will be celebrating throughout the entire year of 2015. The video shown above is merely the first of many subsequent videos to be released throughout the year in the BNI®--Then and Now video series. These videos feature thoughts, stories, and personal reflections about BNI from BNI Directors and members spanning the globe--a handful of whom were in attendance at the very first meeting of BNI and have remained BNI members to this day! D&M Creative Limited, the brand development specialists responsible for all of BNIs official branding, have created a special 30th anniversary logo (shown at left) which will soon be available for download in the Official Logos section on BNIBranding and BNI Directors and members are encouraged to make use of this special logo throughout 2015. Another celebratory aspect of BNIs milestone anniversary which BNI members and Directors can look forward to is the mid-March launch of a special 30-year video contest, the theme of which will be The Hidden Pearl, focused on unearthing and highlighting the countless pearls of growth and success which have been experienced by people across the globe as a result of their participation in BNI.
