Thirty years ago tonight I was working in the bar I used to own in Ottumwa and was introduced to a young lady named Sue who was celebrating her birthday. We talked quite a bit that evening and danced a little and I was really enjoying being in her company. Then...I was informed my house was on fire!! I had an acreage outside of Ottumwa and arrived just in time to see all the walls and the roof fall into the basement...a total loss. Anyway, the birthday girl began to frequent my bar, and, to make a long story short, we were married 8 months later. So December 29th is an important date to us. Happy Birthday, Sweetheart!!
