This Bishop is awesome! And the way I found Denver was through stewardship in Kansas...!!!!!! Yes..he is so right. The best way to save Catholic education is through a radical move by a parish to stewardship as a way of life...but first the parish must make disciples...in the northeast we need to focus on discipleship first otherwise stewardship becomes maintenance fund raising ....Kansas is the bulls eye for reform..ABChaput comes from near this Diocese. His focus has been discipleship for years. After a parish spends time on a discipleship effort the it is time to move into stewardship...... Bishop Gerber..is a saintly bishop and he was the one that started the great stewardship movement with Msgr. McGreed! But Kansas was filled with faith centered people.to begin with. Not as much distraction that has cluttered the northeast...Coming back from my first stewardship conference in Chicago we knew the first step for us was discipleship. Eucharistic Adoration and Scripture study. The holy Spirit moved us in this very way to listen to Ecclesia in America and start a New Evangelization effort......We needed to plant deep roots in order to give birth to a counter cultural stewardship effort ....We added through the aid of the Missionaries of the Most Holy Eucharist Eucharistic adoration, and scripture study through the aid of Ascension Press and Augustine Institute , etc. We consecrated Our Parish to the Blessed Mother...with the aid of Meghan Cokeley and Fr. Michael Gaitley....We have an amazing social ministry up and running due to t the vision of Jeanine Cavanagh and I believe we are about ready for a sincere stewardship effort where Catholic education would be provided to every child in our parish....k-12!!!! But we had to lay the ground work..deep, deep roots.....Bishop Paprocki is on track! Right on!!! Baam. this Bishop has vision and having a relatively small diocese as compared to an archdiocese will be able to manage this...All great things start small...I hope we can also start this...Very tough in the northeast. But with God all things are possible.
