This Black vs Bosnian thing has been going in STL forever. We all feed into the the stereotypes on some level. I was jumped by a few Bosnian guys awhile ago.. but I was also jumped and staved/cut (box cutter) a few times by a few black guys in Wellston down the street from my grandmothers house which home court for me so I dont feed into the narrative of ALL people from a specific demographic being bad. Blacks and Bosnians have never formed a permanent community truce and I think its time we really organize that.The media is about to exploit these recent incidents as if we havent been beefing since the 90s. Thats old news in the Lou...why report on it now? Why cover it in the news now on constant basis? To exploit the relationship and make people respond in a sensitive manner to a very touchy subject. Each community has to ride though...no fingers crossed behind the backs or partial deals being made when we all go back to our own neighborhoods...a real black and bosnian truce/partnership has never touched the Lou..but we cant let the police manipulate this relationship now that everyone is on their ass.. stay focussed we actually do have a collective enemy and we may be able to work together to uproot these cowards from neighborhoods but first we have to find a way to sit at the table with each other and stop poor people from banging on other poor people. Never thought Id say this in a million YEARSSS.. because a lot of us grew up warring against each other...but Im willing to lead by example and sit down at the conversation table...to make this a reality.
