This Day in Music. November 13, 1965. There was a Teenage Go Go Dance at the Fire House in Hazlett, NJ, featuring a local band called The Castiles (named for castile soap shampoo). The band had just hired a new singer - a 16 year old kid with a deep, gravelly voice that sounded much older. The following May, the band had generated enough interest locally to warrant a recording session at Mr Music Inn at the Brickmall Shopping Center in Bricktown, NJ. They were allowed to record two songs, and received a half dozen or so copies each of the two acetate recordings. The first one was called Baby I... youtu.be/I-3piB3bR7A
