This Ebola scare is being thrown way out of proportion by the media. Hear me out... Ebola is transmitted by direct contact with the mucus secretions from an infected individual. An infected individual is most contagious at the peak of their infectious process (when they are most violently ill) The reason nurses, doctors, and caregivers are all over the news as being diagnosed with Ebola, is because those are the people that are in direct contact with the mucous secretions of an infected individual. During the most contagious stage of the infection, those infected with Ebola become violently ill, they will have severe diarrhea and vomiting. Guess what??? Nurses and Doctors are in direct contact with those mucous secretions. Even beyond that, after direct contact with the infected mucous secretions, one would have to transmit the virus into their own mucous membranes (eyes, nose, mouth, reproductive organs) ***So, if you ride on the same airplane as someone with Ebola, you will not get it. Just like if you ride on an airplane with someone who has AIDs, you will not get it from just simply being on the same airplane. *** These are facts of epidemiology. The problem is within the health care system, which is extremely poor in West Africa where the disease is truly killing people.
