This Horizon is from 3 years ago - I dont know how I missed it. I am far more at home with cats than dogs although I have had a couple of extraordinarily close relationships with dogs. One in particular stays with me. The fox breeding segment is something that shows up in breeding cats with small wild forest species and breed several generations to ensure that domestication is present. I remember this for many years ago - before mitochondrial DNA or genome analysis was available. I think one of the interesting parts of this programme for me was the understanding of oxytocin levels spiking in petting sessions with dogs. :) How lovely is that!!
