This June, as the House debated and ultimately passed the Defense Appropriations bill for next year, I worked to include additional funding (fully offset by reducing another account) for the Fisher House Foundation. Fisher House builds family-friendly apartment style homes near military and VA hospitals and provides free lodging and transportation to military families. My amendment will allow more homes to be built, so that more families across the country can be together.
