This NY Times article on planet hunting mentions a committee led by Karl Stapelfeldt about halfway down. This is the committee Ive served on for the past year and a half. Along with JPL engineers we specified and designed a planet imagining space telescope, Exo-C. We thought our job was almost done but we have just learned that our committee has been extended through the rest of 2015. We may be looking at the capabilities of a $2B telescope instead of $1B. This is both great and frustrating as we spent countless hours trying to squeeze our design down to meet the $1B price tag.
