This Post relates to the statement by an alleged Homeland Security Adviser...who supposedly called America an Islamic Country. I am constantly amazed and appalled at the ease by which so many spread their George Wallace and Joseph McCarthy-style and most dangerous propaganda. This is an example of the HATE, FEAR and manipulation that too many Tweeters have some kind of weird (even dangerous) fun with. Did anybody on FB hear this Homeland Security Adviser say these words? If so, he/she should be reminded that we should research before making statements about something this serious. My research gave me this: As of June 28, 2014, the population of the USA is approx. 224,437,959. Regarding religion groups within this number, US CENSUS DOES NOT ASK QUESTIONS ABOUT A PERSONS RELIGIOUS PREFERENCE. And this has been true for MANY decades. Of those hundreds of millions of Americans, this is how the TOP 6 religious groups break down: ONE): Christinaity -151,225,000. TWO): Non-Religious/Secular -13,116,000. THREE): Judasim - 3,137,000. FOUR): Buddhism- 401,000. FIVE): Islam- 527,000. SIX): Atheist - 902,000. So, where in these figures, did this Adviser find his numbers to support such a statement that, America is an Islamic country? And, one more thing: If this man (and any other person who wants to know) would RESEARCH, he would learn that these 527,000 Islamic citizens are business men/women, students, leaders in law, medicine, education, military service for the USA and leaders in local/state/national government...and that they VOTE, pay TAXES, and that they came here to have a safe place to raise a family and make an honest living.
