This Russo-Nazi volunteer was captured by the Ukrainian fighters - TopicsExpress

This Russo-Nazi volunteer was captured by the Ukrainian fighters from the Aidar battalion near Donetsk. He says, I must admit, they treated me well. I mean, I am their enemy and, if we met face-to-face in combat, they would certainly not spare me. But they are real soldiers. They understand very well, what is it to be a POW. They never tortured me, never hit me, never even yelled at me. I cant say I was comfortable - we lived in an abandoned gym, it was tough, but they treated us like human beings. They took good care of us. None of us became ill - we all stayed in good health. I was, eventually, exchanged for one of theirs who had been captured by us. I am very grateful to General Ruban, the Ukrainian negotiator who saved my life and returned me home. And I began to think differently about this war. Again, the change in my thoughts is due to them, these Ukrainian troops. They know what they are fighting for. I thought I, too, knew what I was fighting for - but I am so disappointed in this war, in our commanders who, near the Donetsk airport, showed incompetence. Almost entire division that stormed the airport is now dead.
