This Thanksgiving is full of reflection! Within myself, my family, self-healing, and all of the opportunities that Ive been blessed with and towards a future of the unknown. I give ALL my praise to the Lord! Ever so Thankful with all that Ive encountered in this life, especially with another accident anniversary fast approaching. To share these images with you all is an honor. Its been YEARS since Ive felt this beautiful! I have to give final credit to my mentor: Jerry Ghionis. As his wife recently emailed them to me, its taken some time for me to put into words what to say; how & when I wanted to share these. During my trip to L.A. and attending his workshop, he called me out, his survivor, to take an up close and personal shot. As apprehensive as I was, I had trust in him from his amazing examples of work, to not deny him the chance. Needless to say, this is the first close-up professional picture since my accident that I can say, I am beautiful. Yes, Ive had a few pictures taken over the years, mainly told myself I did that for my daughter, not because I felt comfortable.....and to those Photographers, kudos for dealing with a self-conscience person. I had no time for that with Jerry, he caught me completely off guard. This has been a personal battle that I do not ask for any help trying to mend. Its very hard to explain, but day by day, I find the confidence within myself and the Lord to continue holding my head high and being very proud that Im still here to experience what this life blesses me with. Looks are ONLY the outside, its the WILL TO LIVE inside that guides us. Therefore, its not held me back per-say, just gave me a few rough days and those I simply dont look in the mirror. Carrying on this life, head still high and looking forward to my next year, especially to spend a short time with my Mentor; as I pray to do this for everyone Im blessed to capture. Thank You Jerry, for helping me see the beauty for the first time in years!
