This Thursday 8 August - a rare treat for Sydney Jazz fans! Joy Yates and Dave McRae - with Brendan Clarke & Andrew Dickeson. Joy Yates and Dave MacRae have had long international careers as creative musicians and although the love of jazz in its many forms plays a major part in their performances they have recorded or performed or produced, together or separately with a diverse number of artists. Some are - Van Morrison, Chaka Khan, Randy Crawford, Gladys Knight, Monty Python, The Goodies, Clark Terry, Chet Baker, Buddy Rich, Jon Hendricks, Annie Ross, Back Door, Nucleus, Robert Wyatt, Scott Walker and many more. These days, teaching is a big part of each week but memorable recent concerts are; Joy’s portrayal of Billie Holiday in the Ensemble Theatre’s production of “Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar and Grill”, The Stonnington Festival in Melbourne and performances at The Sound Lounge in Sydney in a project called Bloodlines with daughter Jade.
