The origin of this duet began when WAKY-AM/Louisville KY program director, Gary Guthrie, spliced both Neils and Barbras two solo versions together and the song got tremendous feedback and publicity. When Neil Diamond was told about it, he re-recorded the song with Streisand herself, and within weeks of its release, the single went to No.1 in the US. December 3 1948, Born on this day, Ozzy Osbourne, vocalist and star of The Osbournes MTV show. Ozzys favorite treat for his birthday? I Scream of course! December 4 1971, Sly and the Family Stone began a three week stay at No.1 on the US single chart with Family Affair, their third and final US No.1.Thanks Sly for the constant reminder that blood is thicker than the mud.
