This a letter from the birds that fly over Kenya to H.E. @UKenyatta cc @OleItumbi shared by Rasthadan Nicastro @RaabiaHawa Ladies and gentlemen ... the HA HA Birds are posting here an open letter addressed to the Honourable President of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta. There is no other option but to address our thoughts directly to you. We know that we are monitored, so you will get to read this .... maybe not from those that filter and handle your communications, but eventually through media and responsible persons that will advise you that enough is enough. We are talking about poaching. We would like to give you the names of alleged poaching kingpins and manipulators of ivory and rhino horn poachers, as is happening right now, before you get distracted by a press conference on this matter this March 19th at the Serena in Nairobi. Awareness is over it is time to act and to stop people doing photo shoots with dead poached animals, that have agendas but no solution except getting a political appointment, and CVs that are questionable. If what was said on that Koinage interview a few days ago is right, your secret service knows who is responsible ... or at least some of them. If they know, we know ... same community sources. Time to walk the talk and take measures. Too much impunity is protected in Kenya. You are not risking anything, if nothing more it will ensure the long live of your presidency. You have to start your house cleaning for corruption as you promised ... what better way to gain world attention in starting this process if through protecting wildlife and purging KWS ... and their shadow management and individuals, and recognizing those in KWS that actually risk their life ... not only Rangers, but a lot of silenced staff. Remember your fathers words about the treasures of Kenya, even if in your family that was not to respected at times. We shall talk about funding, NGOs and Conservation Stars and other prominent people on another occasion ... and we wont even touch here the intrinsic defects of the Wildlife Bill. We apologize if we write this letter to you this way, but that excellent communication person that was Muthui Kariuki is not available to address you as we did in a petition some time back over our grief for elephant poaching. Here are the alleged culprits, in house that are driving poaching in Kenya. It deserves you attention and a real investigation ... even on all the the KWS staff that gets suspended or not, redistributed or not and we never hear of any results ...it si as bad as police safety road blocks where matatu can go by overloaded with seven people, to then crash for a mere kitu kidogo or toll of 50 to 100 Ksh. First person to investigate for allegations made (witnesses will testify if protected ... right on!) with no prejudice Hussein Noor. CEO of Water Towers ... sits on KWS Board while in charge of Mau and Water Towers. There is evidence that he is a main exporter of at least tusks, and of financing poaching in Uganda, Tanzania and Kenya. Records of poachers killed in the field seem to confirm that a majority are from his clan and from Mandera. Second person to investigate: with no prejudice KWS Assistant Director Daniel Onsembe, who is the PA (Personal Advisor to the CEO, based in Nairobi. Third person to investigate:with no prejudice Corporal Ogori, a corporal based in Kilgoris who is alleged to be the present link person for poaching and has been coordinating the recent wave of successful poaching in the area. Fourth person to investigate: with no prejudice In Nakuru we are looking at a Senior Security Official in charge of the vast Rift Valley. Is this how Rhinos have been successfully killed right inside the park in attacks carried out by the same cartels. Someone knows the security routine to get around it ... the rest is threats and transfer to other post to ensure silence. It is hard for anybody that cares about Kenya and its Natural Treasures, as the Ha Ha Birds like to point out ... to consciously work and cooperate or liase with KWS when this is an alleged and provable reality and we support the trapped KWS staff in this situation. The honest staff and Rangers. In this we walk with the honest rangers. It is not enough to be honorary warden or rangers ... might as well be boy scouts until maturity catches on. It is disconcerting and demoralizing even for the whole country and those protecting wildlife to realize that it is from the same body responsible for protecting wildlife ... we repeat Jomo Kenyatta words, the Natural Treasures of Kenya ... to be responsible from within for facilitating poaching elephants and rhinos. With due respect Honourable President it is time for you to name and shame them ... they are not only shaming a Kenya that problems it has, created through governance, in abundance, but it is dangerous to your reputation in a moment where everything about governance, integrity, greed, impunity, and the daily economics of survival, at grass roots level is questioning you, your team and all the elected members. Do not fear being blackmailed by those in the wrong ... do you want to rise above the impunity that surrounds you? Thank you for your attention Mr President ... the Ha Ha Birds asked for information ... they got it ... they revealed it ... your turn ... and do not be waylaid by a coming press conference at the Serena on Wed. March 19th that as far as we know will not name any alleged kingpins or give solutions except tears and complaints and old boys club cheer ... Action on this matter that affects communities, that you should really take to heart and hear them out ... and would re-enforce credibility in tourism ... would go a long way to give credibility to your stated commitment to fight corruption at all levels.
