This afternoon I toured the new Harris Teeter at The Yards DC (4th & M SE, in the Twelve12 building) with their general manager, Tim. The store is almost ready for its close-up, and plans to open on the evening of November 4 (election day!) / morning of November 5. Some facts: -1,853 types of wine -190 brand new HT employees (over 50% from DC), + 30 transferred employees from other stores -fully operational Starbucks -Pharmacy that will be open every day of the week -Florist -Sushi bar, 3 types of hot bar, salad bar, and prepared meal section -indoor and outdoor seating -self-checkout at both the north and south entrances to the store
