This amuses me. Beyond the obvious awesomeness of Batman, theres this argument that four-limbed dragons (that is, two arm-wings and two legs) arent really dragons, but wyverns. While this is technically true, its still ridiculous. It could accurately be said that wyverns are a sub-type of dragon. Ultimately, when stripped down to its essential elements, a dragon is a reptilian creature with some kind of special breath (whether it be fire, ice, or a noxious miasma). Even that definitions probably up for debate. Its like saying the vampires from Twilight arent vampires because they sparkle in sunlight. Theres no rule that states that vampires cant sparkle, just as theres no rule that vampires must burn up in sunlight. Its just generally accepted. Ultimately, when stripped down to its essential elements, a vampire is an entity that drains life from other entities (typically through the medium of the blood). Loathe as I am to say, Edward Cullen and his ilk fit that definition. We need to stop trying to impose rules on mythological, legendary, and folkloric creatures and learn to accept that different people have different interpretations, especially in the world of sci-fi/fantasy/horror media, where everybodys always trying to come up with something original.
