This article feels short and doesnt go into enough depth on Kings - TopicsExpress

This article feels short and doesnt go into enough depth on Kings more radical views on labor, poverty, and economic justice, which have been overshadowed by a watered down version of the I Have a Dream Speech. King demanded the restructuring of the American economy and he was assassinated just weeks before the Poor Peoples Campaign was set to commence. In one of his last speeches he urged: Confront the power structure massively. I know Im preaching to the choir, but isnt this the message we should be remembering and learning from history? Im mostly sharing this because I feel that as a child I was taught a very romanticized version of King and his history and it wasnt until my freshman year of college that my ignorance was addressed (i.e. that his message wasnt just about racial equality; it was about addressing structural inequalities). Ive shared a few other articles in this post for those interested.
