This batch of baby barn owls (Tyto alba hellmayri) was rescued - TopicsExpress

This batch of baby barn owls (Tyto alba hellmayri) was rescued from a roof in Freeport when construction was taking place. They all lived and grew up to be beautiful juveniles which were released right here at the centre in Freeport. A family of barn owls, mom, pop and 4 babies like these, will eat approximately 25,000 mice a year.( not a typo folks 25,000). Do you know anyone who can remove 25,000 mice with no negative impacts on our eco system? So instead of vilifying the majestic barn owl as he takes flight over our homes maybe we should smile as another animal is doing his job and in so doing protecting us from ourselves.Spread the word , educate someone and help save out natural heritage.
