This case throws the light, again and again, on two main serious weaknesses in the Social Care system in Britain: 1- Commissioning: This horrible case comes under a SIX MILLION POUND care contract awarded by OXFORD CITY COUNCIL to SOUTHERN HEALTH. It proves beyond any doubt, what I said hundreds of times in the past decade, the FAILURE of BID CARE PROVIDERS to provided Quality Care. And that SUPERMARKET CARE DOESNT WORK. 1- REGULATION: It is, again and again, VERY OBVIOUS that the REGULATOR CQC (Care Quality Commission) is not able to deal with BIG COMPANIES for several reasons and, therefore, NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE. Do we have to wait to May 2015, to bring in a GOOD GOVERNMENT, leaving Millions of VULNERABLE PEOPLE at RISK of ABUSE and DEATH? thisisoxfordshire.co.uk/news/11092766.Controversial_Slade_House_unit_for_people_with_learning_disabilities_may_never_reopen/
