This coming Sunday Aug. 31st the Race Saver 305 sprint cars return to the Fabulous Bedford Speedway to pay tribute to Billy Winn winner of the first auto race here in 1936, Winn was also a force to reckon with on the dirt tracks in the 1930s. Also, since the original race on July 3 was rained out, our series will also incorporate our tribute to local race car driver Milt Miller of Bedford. Milt was an accomplished sprint car driver so it is befitting we honor him as well as the Bedford Speedway celebrates its 78th birthday. The points race is very tight with anything possible and the top ten drivers are fairly close in points. The last race on Aug. 17 saw a major shift as Michael Wagner won the feature and finished third in his heat race allowing him to take over the points lead in the 2014 Summer Shootout Series. Tony Fiore is 14 points behind in second place with the top five close behind both of these drivers. With DOUBLE POINTS on tap again a good finish is a must... Also, $50.00 cash will be given away by luck of the chip draw after the feature, this prize is courtesy of Morocco Welding of Somerset, Pa. Also, a $50.00 gift card for Snap On Tools courtesy of Beth Miller Healey will be given away along with two lawn chairs and a cooler from Snap On Tools. Beth is the daughter of Milt Miller. Also, John Miller, Milts son, will be on hand to present these prizes.
