This conversation about coaches and askholes is worth its own post: COMMENT: The biggest askholes are the ones fishing for free information. Skip... Legit clients get line by line details and ask smart questions... Askholes keep screwing up because they get a mixed bag of free info from multiple sources and then proceed to make a mess of themselves. MY RESPONSE: I think coaches need to go way back to when they first started and show more empathy and understanding for the people out there who are seeking advice. Some people are genuinely confused as to who is giving them the right information. Sure, the questions they ask arent always the best questions sometimes but thats just where they are in the process. Some people know how to ask the right questions and some just dont yet. They are looking for CERTAINTY and CONFIDENCE from the expert they are talking to and this is their best attempt to find the best expert FOR THEM. And, come on. You cant blame the people out there who are skeptical about coaches and experts when so many coaches and experts are attacking and mocking each other and telling the world how incompetent the OTHER coaches are. They are even getting extremely dramatic and warning people that coaches are going physically and emotionally harm them FOREVER (without giving names, of course. Just spreading mass hysteria). Its the coachs responsibility to be convincing and persuasive enough to get others to listen to him and follow him. And, hopefully, they wont resort to scare tactics like 99% o f the personal significance-led coaches are choosing to promote themselves.
