This conversation happened today, I kid you not: CHP Officer -- 85 is UNACCEPTABLE. Just think about your reaction time. . .I mean, what would happen if a little bunny ran out in front of you? Ive seen rollover accidents because of excessive speed! Joyous -- Dont prey on my love of animals! *making botox-impaired, squinty, confused face* Wait a minute. . . do you mean what happen to the bunny if I was doing 85 versus 70? CHP Officer -- Yes. Joyous -- Umm. . . I think we all need to be honest here. The rollover accidents to avoid bunnies -- IF they happened -- were not caused by excessive speed. They were caused by someone swerving to avoid a bunny. I would never hurt a bunny on purpose, but Im not going to swerve and potentially cause an accident CHP -- EXACTLY! Joyous -- Umm. . .no, not EXACTLY. . . Whether youre going 70 or 85 and a bunny jumps out in front of you, I can assure you, the bunny is toast. Julia Cassels snorts with laughter. CHP officer scowls and hands me ticket. (I would like to note for the record that no bunnies were harmed in the making of this post)
