This does not even begin to scratch the surface of who Cousin Pat was. She was one of the smartest people I have ever known, had an iron will, and often times was the backbone to our extended family. She lost her mom at age 12, so had to be in charge of life from that point on. Pat was afraid of no one and nothing, which for a woman of her generation, was amazing. I have rarely met a more fiercely independent woman. She did it all on her terms. If I had told her that she a feminist, she would have told me not to be so ridiculous. But, like the label or not, she was woman ahead of her time. RIP and God bless Cousin Pat.
