This email is circulated with the permission of this retired principal who serves in the Joint Management Committee (JMC) in one of the three apartment buildings next to the old Carrefour, i.e. eTiara, Subang Avenue and Casa Tiara. They have shoplots on the ground floor and these shops are supposed to be freely accessible to the public. These are all serviced apartments and are not easy to enforce security compared to other condos which are purely residential like Saujana Residency. This is to share with other forumers and I hope this message will be relayed to their management committees. Apparently some foreigners rented an apartment in our building in order to obtain the car park access card (which cannot be duplicated due to security features embedded in the card). Our apartment car parks can only be accessed via these cards only. The thieves were using the card a few times already according to our records but have not moved into their unit. Early this morning 29-07-2013 at about 4.00 am, they drove a Honda Accord into the apartment building. Since they used the access card guards did not suspect anything even though the windows were heavily tinted. They drove the car to Level P2 of our apartment and stole a Toyota Hilux. They were able to disable the alarm system and other safety features in the car and drove the cars to the exit within 20 minutes. They used only one card to exit. We saw on the CCTV playback that the stolen car was following close behind the Honda Accord so that the boom gate did not shut down on top of the second car. It was as if they were moving like a long vehicle. Smart fellas!. The car owner made a report at 10.30 am to the SS17 police station and the Sergent in charge said he would come. The owner waited but no one came. We called the police again this afternoon at 3.00 pm and got all the information ready to give them but at 6.00 pm (at the time of writing this thread) they have not come yet. So the stolen car is probably on its way to Thailand by now. Thank you Polis DiRaja Malaysia for being so efficient. Where is the promise for increase efficiency promised by the police posted in this forum in an earlier thread? We suspect the new tenants to be the culprits but since they have not moved in..there is no one to catch. The tenants, foreigners, are importing their sophisticated method of stealing cars by doing it from the inside. So, for those of you who stay in condos be forewarned that the thieves may be living next door to your unit! 9:58 AM 29-07-2013 Monday The police has not turned up yet. Trail already cold. 5:36 PM 30-07-2013 Tuesday I followed up with an email to YB Hannah Yeoh. Surprise! Two officers from Subang Jaya IPD came and they seemed to be very helpful and promised more action. At least a positive step.
