This footage briefly shows the tragic incident I experienced yesterday, though I see it as one of the unfortunate things that happens to us in life but I am indeed glad everyone one of us involved are still alive to tell the story. Had it been the unfortunate incident happened within Lagos metropolis I doubt if I would not be lynched cos irregardless of what might have caused it, I don’t think Lagosians would not immediately pounce on the driver of a vehicle that crushed two persons on a motorbike. My mission was to visit Stallion Ranch site with a prospective client (Stallion Ranch is Nigeria’s first Equestrian Resort and Estate being developed by Building Diagnostics Ltd stallionranchng ). Though the Mowe-Ofada road is currently being dualized, it is official that Mowe/Ofada residents are daily counting their agonies on the road, thanks to Gov. Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun state. Whenever it rained the road is always difficult to navigate that even a 4 wheel drive SUV will have to be manned by an experienced driver to navigate the road properly, there was no room to speed so I was driving as slow as I could. However right in front of me was a motorbike having 2 persons on it, I noticed the bike rider was struggling to navigate the road as the mud made it difficult for him to be in total control of the bike handle. I further slowed down my movement and was moving slowly behind the bike, all of a sudden the bike ran into a deep mud and struggled to balance its movement but unfortunately the mud flung the bike back to the main road and directly to the tip of my car, I was so close......……. I came down from the car thinking……………., only to see the 2 guys badly injured, I feel their pain and wished it never happened but I could not avoid it…….. Though they might not be reading this but I sincerely thank Mowe residents and eye witnesses who did not mince words while explaining the way it happened. I also thank passers bye who showed sympathy especially the good “Samaritan” who volunteered to use his car for taking the injured guys to hospital. My heart is with the injured guys as they recuperate from the injuries sustained, I thank them for their own sincerity as well, they believed neither them nor me should be blamed. And finally I thank all those who responded immediately I called. Finally, I heard people saying different things at the incident scene yesterday, some blaming and cursing the devil, some thanking God for putting the devil to shame cos those guys did not die but only sustained injuries. Hmmmmmmm………….the issue of the supernatural being to blame or praise is a subject of discussion for another day. But in all, I saw a road project abandoned at a stage that is very deadly for users in the rainy season, I saw 2 hardworking young guys who ignored the danger of riding a bike on the muddy road, it was a big risk and I also saw an ill-fated me who plied the road at a wrong time, or better still I should have given the bike a distance of about 100 metres. We have all learnt our lessons, let Gov. Ibikunle Amosun do the needful on the Mowe-Ofada road dualization.
