This goes for jails filled with parents and ex-spouses unable to pay overwhelming child support and alimony payments after being devastated by this economy. It goes for divorce courts that deprive parents of their children and children of their parents with NO justification whatsoever. It goes for courts that order unrestrained searches that result in seizures of children without probable cause that any crime has been committed. Divorce Courts trample on our Constitution thousands of times every day and then they jail parents for failing to follow unconstitutional court orders that steal their children then force them to pay for that privilege. Freedom can NOT be for intact nuclear families alone. All parents and all children regardless of divorce MUST have equal freedoms of expression, of association, from unreasonable search and seizure, from being jailed for a debt, and from having the parent-child bond severed. The most unconstitutional authoritarian tyrannical area of our government today is the family law system and particularly divorce courts. If you want to see and experience the rule that absolute power corrupts absolutely then just sit through a divorce custody trial. You will see first hand how a king acts when there are no constitutional constraints placed upon him.
