This goes out as a request/challenge to all our FB friends. Our son Kade has a good friend who is facing life threatening challenges, as hes been placed on the transplant list for a new heart. While most kids have enjoyed their summers and are heading off to college, Jacob has been undergoing compatibility tests for the transplant. Some of you may have heard us speak of Jacob. Jacob and his two younger brothers often come over and visit our home as they live on our street. The boys play video games, ride bikes, skateboard, swim, and do all the things young boys do. Jacob soon became an integral part of our family, and when Kade and Jacob were in the 8th grade we accompanied them on the school Washington, D.C. trip! We have known for quite a while that Jacob had had a heart transplant at a very young age, and we had been told it would not last forever, however you NEVER think it will come this fast. Despite Jacobs condition, (although I wouldnt call it that), he never lets his life get boring. Jacob never stops himself from doing anything because of his heart. In fact, he has a bigger heart than most people, along with a great sense of humor. Jacob also volunteered at the homeless shelter that our church hosted during his high school years. However, Jacob now needs a new heart, which means he is not currently allowed to be as active as he once was. Please help this young man get the lifetime of fun and happiness he deserves.
