This great photo is the staff of Germanys leading weekly news magazine, Der Spiegel. This is impossible to reproduce in almost any American MSM newsroom because, you know, our media is objective, non-partisan, professional and Above It All. What Jay Rosen calls The View From Nowhere. God talks to the media and the media talks to us. It was just a few weeks ago that NPR admonished ALL of its employees, including non-editorial staff, that they could observe but not participate in a D.C. protest over recent police killings. That same sort of policy prevails at almost every other mainstream US outlet. Its why this past week I am very less than proud to be an American journalist. My heart is in that room with my colleagues from Der Spiegel.
