This guy called fowlyose is not in but a tout, a rogue per excellence. ......................................... Choice of Character between Fayemi and Fayose - My Personal Experience. If anyone reading this piece bothers to ask any question regarding the role played by me or feels disappointed or short of expectation, my conviction is enough to explain my stand. This is not a campaign of calumny or war. It is just an issue based comparative analysis to safeguard my constitutional guarantee of Fundamental Freedom and Human Rights with respect to Expression, Conscience and Opinion. I may not be classified as a Politician, but I hold degrees in History and Political Science. I was born by a politician and I saw a bit of what politics is all about. Therefore, I can participate in agenda setting in politics either through issue based or practical knowledge conviction. I have the pedigree and personal political background to comment on political issues to some degree and owing to the fact that I share same conviction with my father on several political issues and ideology. The standpoint of my argument is that Character is an issue based qualification for Leadership aspiration in modern society just as Obama healthcare is issue based and Putins Expansion of Russia. Fayemi 8 Point Agenda is issue based as it concerns infrastructure, education, healthcare etc and his character is also an issue to comment on. Is the quality or character of Leadership not issue based in any system? A leader cannot give what he never had! When you know the characters involved through your personal experience, you can say who qualifies or who does not. This is issue based and not party politics. In 2007, I stood against Dr. Kayode Fayemi over a matter that he wasnt guilty about and when I later realized my follies, l went to see him at Isan in 2009 to apologize and he didnt harbour any known grudge against me. Till last December, 2013 Dr. Kayode Fayemi was a regular visitor at my fathers house to see to welfare of the 96 year old Patron of Ekiti Council of Elders. In a televised programme, Fayemi- an erudite scholar and historian described my father - J.E. Babatola, Olora of Ado-Ekiti as an institution. At every function where this intelligent, cerebral and humble Governor sees my father, he prostrates like a son greeting his father. What more do I need from an Egbon mi atata - Ilufemiloye of Ekiti State! Fayemi is an epitome of values, Respect for Elders, Empathy and sound knowledge. Get close to him and see that he is just whom I say he is. Segun Agagu who was a student of my father at Ibadan Grammar School in the 60s when he was Ag. Principal came in 2004 to greet him at home. Agagu was Governor of Ondo State and not Ekiti, But he came to greet his former Teacher and a well known Oublic figure. Is Fayose more learned or qualified or older than Agagu? A good leader ought to know the history of his people and how to deal with those ahead of him. Rather Fayose wrote a nasty letter to my father when my father advised him to close rank with all Stakeholders in Ekiti Project. The grouse of Fayose against my father is that he was a leading member of Ekiti Council of Elders. Fayose would rather go on to insult my father publicly for no reason in the home of Chief Akin Omoboriowo. Omoboriowo never dare do such a thing. Not even my fathers students at Teachers College, Ikere and Ushi Ekiti, St. Paul, ikole, Christs School, Ado-Ekiti, St. Peters, Akure and Ibadan Grammar School where he served either as Teacher or Principal between 1953 and 1971 when he retired including Ekekole Adetula Adeleye, Justice OLATAWURA of Supreme Court, Gen. Adeyinka Adebayo former Governor of the West, Samuel Asabia former Central Bank Deputy Governor and Orlando Owoh to mention a few. Rather they either prostrate for my father or greet him respectfully. But alas in Fayose never recognized my father while he said that he hub nub with Leaders and common people during his reign of terror in Ekiti. Who is more common and humble between Babatola and Fayose in Ekiti politics? I believe that Omode nbo wa dagba. Omo oju Ori ri! Some readers may not know that my father served as a Minister in the Colonial Government before Fayose was born and before Nigeria became independent. Fayoses father was presumed to be my fathers pupil or his respectable Uncle was taught by my father at Christs School and later worked under him when my father became Teachers College Principal in 1953. Yet he went ahead to say he was insane on radio because he is Governor of Ekiti State. Is that the Governor that Ekiti deserves? Buka or Bole kaja Governor? Fayose was the opposite because he became an Almighty and unquestionable chicken Governor overnight. Even after my father applauded some of Fayoses programme as Governor, he went to the air to insult him again in 2006. The same Fayose insulted Chief Falegan, Chief Afe Babalola and a host of Ekiti leaders apart from harassing Elekole, Onijan and Ewi to mention a few. Before Fayose was born there were well educated and knowledgeable leaders in Ekiti who could be cited as political authorities in their own rights such as E.A. Babalola of Oye, Ajayi of Igbara, J.E. Babatola of Ado, J. Oshuntokun of Okemesi, Olusola of Ilawe, Olokesusi of Ise, Okeya of Emure, Aluko and Akinyede of Ode, Akomolafe and Familoni of ldo, Anisulowo of Are, Areola etc to mention a few. The likes of these and newer generation political leaders of 2nd Republic qualifies as Elders. My father never ask him for a kobo and didnt need it. When my father was a Minister, he respected his Elders like Babalola of Oye, Egbedi Ajibade of Ado, Anisulowo of Are, Familoni of Ido to mention a few, just as he respected Awolowo - The Premier and even Akintola, his adversary and the Governor - Sir Adesoji Aderemi, Ooni of Ife and Ewi Aladesanmi Anirare II - Deputy Chairman of Western House of Chiefs. Even Adedibu as one of AG boys who knew my father in the 50s and 60s was shocked to his marrow when he heard that Fayose insulted my father, let alone Olusegun Obasanjo who was a 2nd Lt. in the Army when my fathers youngest brother - Col. Babatola was already a Major and Paymaster of Nigerian Army in the 60s. Little did people wonder when Fayose nearly boxed OBJ and insulted him at a function in Osun State about 3 years ago. That is the repentant Governor preparing for another revenge. Will Fayose also settle Obasanjo or what can he offer him, but his albatross character and notorious credentials? The same Fayose with his cronies have taken me to Court over a rent matter in which l had no hand and for which l was harassed by his men causing my wife to make unjustified refund, because Fayose regarded himself as an Almighty. He sued me to Court accusing me that I am Fayemis agent even when l wasnt conferred such status either by political appointment or party affiliation. I have endless things to write about Fayose that I reserve. The issue at hand is a matter of conviction. I cannot vote for any man without character, not a man that want to be leader but through thuggery and oppression and through insults of his elders and kings. I cannot vote for a man that took away the property of my father in law under the Land Use Act and revoke the titles without compensations. Not a man who took me to court through his cronies with intent to take away my mothers property - Ajitadidun. Someone who wish to dictate how I use my property through his cronies. Not for a man who insulted my biological father on air and threatened to remove my revered monarch - The Ewi of Ado-Ekiti, because of my fathers role in Ekiti Council of Elders. Eewo, Kamari. If there are no issues, the character and attitude of a leader alone is an issue to contemplate upon in governance now and in future. You cant put fire on the roof top and go to sleep. Anybody looking at a personality to take over the leadership of Ekiti State should start from the character of the person. Fayose is not comparable to Fayemi. The difference is clear. Fayose is not an acceptable character to me to lead Ekiti in 2014. It is better KO DURO SOKE. My position is a re-echo of what most intelligent and exposed Ekiti people considers in the current situation. It is issue based and not party politics. I stand to be corrected.
