This happened to my friends own dog (Cindy Joy Gaumond)! Her strory: When I called her name over and over, I couldnt understand where she was, why wasnt she answering me. I stood on my back deck begining to panic when I thought I heard her! I called my neighbor across the street and asked for her help, I wondered if my dog got into trouble on the mountain ridge. I found her at the bottom of the ridge and almost on our property line. She was caught in a trap, the teeth of the trap were into her leg, she was curled up into such a tight ball I almost walked past her. My neighbor did this! Then he wanted to take the trap off to use again, I kicked him and screemed at him! I got my dog home and called 911, the officer came and helped me to remove the trap. The laws wont protect any animal caught in these traps. While I was calling her name she tried to yelp back to me! Each time she opened her mouth, my neighbor struck her with a blow to the head with a bat! Thats why she was afraid to answer me even when I stood 2 ft from her calling her name! This practice shouldve been outlawed a long time ago!! Please sign this, I did and it just took a moment.
