This has been a great season and I have enjoyed this ride with these boys so much. We were ultimately one run away from making it to the final four teams in the southeast regional with our only two loses having scores 5-4 & 13-12. We went 3-2. That is a hard pill to swallow, but that is just baseball. I really feel that any of the top 5 teams could make it to the World Series. (Yes we finished 5th) But we accomplished our goal of a State Championship and I am proud to have coached a team that made history. I am lucky to have the coaching staff, parents, fans and players that I have and I thank every one of you for all you do. One thought: I recall seeing Garrison looking at me after hitting his home run as if he was waiting for my approval or my admiration. There are so many times that all these boys do the same thing. It is just a hard thing for me to wrap my head around, I think they are waiting on my approval, when in reality I am in admiration of them. I admire these boys and I love every last one of them. I think every parent of these boys knows that they are so much more than we are. Psalm 127:3 Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him. We have truly been rewarded! I cant remember the verse, but there is a story in the bible of a father wanting to be know for his children. I think it is wonderful for me to be known as Garrisons dad rather than him being recognized as my son. And yes Christie Fulk I am crying at this point.
