This has been a tough week being hooked up to IV lines, receiving antibiotics and multiple platelet and blood transfusions but Wednesday morning I was woken up at 5:30 asking if I would be okay with flying to Calgary childrens hospital? Uh... Yeah. So I got an ambulance ride to the stars hanger and flew to Calgary international and then got another ambulance ride to the Childrens hospital. Enjoying the moments... Oh did I mention in my room was an Xbox, wii, play station and DVD player? Oh and I can see The mountains from my window. It was awesome to have a surprise visit from Auntie Gin and Joel the night before my stem cell harvest procedure. The next day the harvesting only took around 2 hours when it usually takes between 4 to 8 hours. I was discharged that night and you cannot imagine just how amazing a real bed is until youve been in a hospital one all week. I had my PET scan done on Friday which didnt go quite as smoothly as usual my chest was too sore for me to lift my hands much above my head so I got stuck in the machine. While I was half way in the technician had to tape my hands above my head. I will find out on Tuesday what the results are. Friday night I finally got home enjoyed a deer steak and a quiet weekend. I also found out I am not doing chemo this Monday due to finding out about test results. Hoping for the best, prayers are welcome.
