This is Canada. Our Canada. We know the difference between Democracy and Socialism. We are supposed to live in a democratic country where what we say, think, do means something and counts to our Government elect. The Georgia Straight off the West Coast of British Columbia is the 4th most DANGEROUS body of water in the WORLD. It is a force to be reckoned with. It has extreme tides and beyond unpredictable storm patterns. There is NO WAY SUPER TANKERS should ever be considered to use this as a tanker route. It is NOT SAFE. Saying NO to Enbridge Northern Gateway Pipeline IS NOT Saying NO to Oil and Gas. It is saying in Oil and Gas WE WORK too hard and endure crazy working conditions to heat our homes and provide energy for the planet. WE have to act responsibly and will NOT allow our Government to make such irresponsible decisions and put our Countries West Coast and Fisheries Industry at RISK for 219 jobs at the end of their project in order to line their pockets while we freeze our fingers off. There are SAFER passages, this area of Canada should NOT be touched. BITUMEN is not Crude.... It does not float. Our Coast will not recover from a spill. Humpback whale migration routes and so many other species and Communities that require this coastline to be intact in order to survive. I know the pipe is in the ground, the propaganda has been shoved down our throats. The lies the Government is playing us with vs the facts. It is not tree huggers, it is EDUCATED Canadians showing us the TRUTH. We CAN DO BETTER! We CAN demand our Government to DO BETTER! We are WORTH IT! Our West Coast is WORTH IT! Educate yourself on this subject, bring awareness to the people. STAND UP for whats right. Alberta is a beautiful diverse Province full of brilliant hard working people trying to create a brighter future for their families. Could you imagine if the Government passed laws without vote and was threatening to shut down the entire oil and gas industry for 219 permanent jobs.... This is what they are proposing with this project. The COST of doing business says Stephen Harper. May I present to you Mr. Harper your home that the past 10 generations of your family who lived and survived off the land covered in Bitumen, for supper a fresh west coast salmon marinated in bitumen, bitumen soaked crabs and oysters, to drink with a Classic Canadian Caesar vodka with bitumen clamato.... YOU MR. HARPER would NOT accept that as OK, what makes you think that because YOU were bought, WE have to live with it? This is NOT against OIL it against this particular proposed TANKER ROUTE, The First Nations Communities can help stop this but they need our support.
