This is Jon Lorenzo, a sweet 6-year-old boy who was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor known as [DIPG], Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma, found in the pons, which is part of the brainstem on the lower back of the brain, near the top of the spinal cord. It primarily affects children, with most diagnoses occurring between 5 and 7 years of age. Unfortunately, fewer than 10% of children with DIPG survive two years from diagnose. Jon was diagnosed with DIPG on October 17, 2013 and his most recent scans show significant growth in his tumor.
