This is SO TRUE. Californians please wake up and demand that state, local governments and public employees take financial responsibility for their own pension debt mess, and eliminate taxpayer liability - or give taxpayers total control over public employee pensions and benefits. If you have children or grandchildren that cannot even vote yet, they will be stuck paying for these unsustainable public employee pension and health benefits during their entire working life - while public services are continually reduced. Because most state and local governments allow their employees to retire at age of 50 or 55, there are now more public employee retirees than there are public employee workers...and it gets worse every year. Compare your benefits with those of your city, county and state employees and then get involved to help turn this around.
