This is SO true! We married more than 30 years ago and nothing has changed over the years! Examples of the weirdness: Bridesmaid complaints-I dont like the dress. I know youve already paid for them, but change them to what *I* like! Future relatives plans-Sharon, Id like to put together your Bachelorette Party! Remember, before they get married, everybody has to try a bong...! Weirdo friend: Your wedding is in a church, so I cant go in. But thats ok, cuz I shall create a sacred space in front of the church by walking in circles in the parking lot and chanting a prayer for your safety... Family drama about 2 hours before the wedding: Were having a fight. We cant be there. Youll have to find someone else to wear the tux and the gown! Church drama: Youre obviously fornicating. Stop that and repent. Wait till your honeymoon or burn in hell... Future Mil passed away one month before the wedding...I know she didnt plan this, but wtf!? And finally, after wedding drama: Oh, you wanted your alter flowers back? Wish we had known. There was a funeral after your wedding and the flowers looked real pretty next to the casket. The family of the deceased donated those flowers to the nursing home where their loved one expired. Dont you feel honored? They said Thanks... Announcements drama, Invitations drama, cake drama, photographer drama, music drama,...we had it all. And yet....and this is the weirdest thing about the Big Day---Everything turned out great! It went smoothly and it really was a beautiful wedding. At the time, I wanted to elope, but I truly dont have any regrets. In fact, Id do it all over again. The groom is worth it!
