This is Smokie, she came to us last Friday from Rosevelt, Utah. She is and 8 year old Quarter Horse mare. The open wound on her leg is 4 years old, and does not look like it had ever been tended to?... We had Dr. John Brinkerhoff out yesterday to look at her and her buddy another 5 year old Quarter Horse Mare. Smokie, will be traveling to St. George, Utah later this week for x-rays and then after that possible Surgery on her leg to take off the proud flesh. Our hope is to get that leg closed before fly season...we also hope it has not advanced in to any kind of cancer. Her recovery will not be possible without help from you, as her surgeries will be costly. but with her being in relatively good health over all, she has a good shot.
