This is a Watch and Act message issued by Department of Environment and Primary Industries for Grampians Junction, Halls Gap, Bellfield. There is a large 11300 hectare bushfire travelling fast in a south easterly direction from Zumstiens towards Halls Gap. This bushfire is currently out of control. Spot fires and ember attacks have been reported several kms in front of the fire. The fire could impact Halls Gap, Grampians Junction and Bellfield area between 1:00pm and 3:00pm. Fire activity is expected to spread rapidly and be unpredictble today. This Watch and Act message is expected to be upgraded to an Emeregncy Warning later today. Dont wait, leaving now is the safest option - conditions are likely change and get worse very quickly. Emergency Services may not be able to help you if you decide to stay. Travel to - the nearest Regional Town.- Stawell is the best option. - The home of family or friends that is away from the warning area. When driving, slow down and turn on your headlights; smoke will make it difficult to see.
