These individuals voted for a bonus payout for salaried employees that couldnt comprehend what defines ANNUAL. To Commissioners Benner, Rudy and Treasurer Baughman: We, the taxpaying citizens of Perry County, are puzzled & incensed over the obvious incompetence being displayed by specific individuals we elected to conduct county business. Salaried employees receive an ANNUAL salary regardless of how many pay periods are in a year. We are all aware that there are 365 days in a year, 52 weeks and 12 months in a year. That NEVER CHANGES!!!! For a budget that is in the red, why would you consider handing out bonuses & raises to employees. The taxpayers are not a bottomless money pit. We do not approve or condone your actions in this matter. We demand that these bonuses be rescinded immediately. We will remember who voted for these bonuses come the next election. I found your bonus explanation a farce. You thought that you could explain away a salaried paycheck. There are many in PECO that are salaried and we do not receive this fairy tale of a bonus from our employers. We receive our ANNUAL salary divided evenly through the year, without exception. It is amazing when the government attempts to show the people another way to creatively use our money expecting us to blindly accept a notorious explanation. Which we all know is a lie. In the electronic age your actions will be noticed quickly and exact. We will make sure that the issue breathes life come Election Day.
