This is a picture of Jeri Truesdell. She began her flying career in 1935. She paid $11 an hour for lessons. She later met Amelia Earhart and joined the Ninety-Nines. Our fellow 99 will receive the Congressional Gold Medal in 2015 for her efforts during World War II via Civil Air Patrol. She later volunteered for WAVES, the Navys Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service. Jeri is now 100 years old, and on September 22nd at 1800hrs, she will be promoted to Lieutenant Colonel in Civil Air Patrol at the Van Nuys Airport. What an inspiration!
