This is a re-post of Keel road school. It no longer exists. It originally was the Lions open Air School. There was belief that the circulation of air made it easier for children to learn. Joe knows more about that than I do. It was connected with the local Lions Club. Anybody with information or photos of the area clubs like the Lions and others feel free to post them. This is a photo site, but photos are always connected to local history and the people who made the history. Both are part of it. This was near the Church at Fourth and Keel posted by Mr. Parmenter. We now know what type church it was. We can see the people who attended and where it was. Just a short distance from this school. I like seeing those photos and reading the information from posts like his that tie a recent photo of an old and decaying building with a time when it was erect and used on a daily and weekly basis by the people of Memphis. That is what I hoped this site would be. A place to tie together together photos with history and people. Thanks to all contributors.
