This is a real problem! My father Charles Gaines and I both have model 700 bolt action Remington rifles. While unloading my rifle after a day of hunting as I was pulling the bolt back to release the cartridge it went off. Thank God the rifle was pointed up and not at dad! I swore to him I was not pulling on the trigger and who wouldve thought this was actually a defect in the rifle! I could have shot my dad that day and would have believed it was my fault! Thankfully I had been through hunter safety course and knew how to handle a firearm. If anyone has one of these models please read!
