This is a really good interview about psychics, cold readings, hot readings, and why people fall for them. They touch upon a really interesting point about magic (were talking illusions for entertainment) that I think Michael Ammar touched on in one of his lectures: there are two parts to a magic trick. The performance and then the memory and recounting of the trick to someone else. The key is that people will either consciously or subconsciously describe the illusion in a way that doesnt make them look stupid or gullible (often including the phrase ...there was NO WAY he/she could have...). In other words, they make the trick and therefore the magician sound really good- and often a lot better than the actual illusion.
