This is a ridiculous misuse of the judicial system. Whats the name of the judge who decreed this idiotic verdict? Id like to write him directly -- and let him know that there appears to be no proof that these dogs caused any damage to the neughbors dogs, if he has no veterinary bill to produce as a result of said dog allegedly been set upon and mauled. Sounds like a crock to me. Too unfortunate that neighborhoods are built with no separation between fences of adjacent homes. That might be worth the expense, though -- leave your electrified lines and present fence in place, and construct another one, 5-8 inside your present fence, so there can be no mistake about whose dogs can not access the complaining neighbors yard. Id caution you, though, as a former Animal Emergency Veterinarian, that Ive seen a number of animals brought in -- poisoned -- strychnine , or one of the 2nd generation rodentacides That affects the ability if the blood to clot are two of the most commonly used poisons.at least that Ive seen used --- so Im just mentioning this, in warning for you to be watchful. These situations have been known to escalate very quickly. Ive had clients whose dogs had done nothing to warrant the degree of hate that was being aimed them, and it is sometimes the only way to defuse the whole situation is to move out of that neighborhood! I hope for your sake, Sir, as well as the sake of your dogs and your family that youre going to be able to get the unfortunate situation resolved, before things come to that.
