This is a status to you Lakers and Kobe fans. Lets all agree that Kobe is entering his last years in the NBA especially with his ACL injury. The lakers there are some free agents the lakers could pick up and with the high possibility of Dwight Howard leaving. These free agents could help the lakers and Kobe get back on the path of an NBA Championship. 1. Josh Smith: First of all with all the lakers injures last season the lakers need a man who can play through injury and almost ALL games and Josh Smith has only missed 11 games in the past 3 seasons. He is also in his prime at the age of 28 by the 2013-2014 season .He is extremely athletic and can get up and down the floor, finishes at the rim with authority and can defend multiple types of players. These facts make him a perfect fit in Mike D’Antoni’s fast paced offence. 2. Andre Iguodala: Iguodala is also in his prime at the age of 29 by the 2013-2014 season. He could be a great asset to the lakers with the uncertainty of the health of Kobe Bryant, he can play back and forth from shooting guard and Small forward. Keep in mind, Iguodala can also play power forward for very short stretches during games. He could spread the court for Kobe Bryant to operate and also reduce his ball handling responsibilities. 3. O.J Mayo: Last Season O.J made 40.7% of his Mavericks. He is a shooting guard for the most part, but he can operate from the point every now and then and with expected injuries of Nash and Bryant and missed games. Mayo has missed 11 games during his entire NBA career. It’s safe to say he is durable. Other Possible free agents include J.R Smith and Andrew Bynum but Andrew has missed the entire 2012-2013 season due to injury however the lakers can sign him for his minimum.
