This is a story. Three point five years ago, Stevie JC and I - TopicsExpress

This is a story. Three point five years ago, Stevie JC and I went to an Olin and the Moon show in The SD. As often happens when Stevie JC and I partner up, we got a bit hammered. Or, the Whale opened for Olin and they had this amazing singer on the Or, the Whale crew.....Lindsay Paige Garfield. That evening, we heard her sing a lot of backing harmonies and we met LPG at the merch table as we stubled out to cab it home. The next day, LPG and I became FB friends and a few months later we went to the Bridge School Benefit and became fast friends. Fast friends because LPG was able to reference Tolstoys Anna Karenina at the drop of a hat and if you want the PERFECT Bridge School concert partner in crime friend, you bring LPG.....because she sings along in perfect harmony. It does not sound like a bunch of rabid cats in a burlap sack being slammed unmercifully against a concrete, cinder block wall. If you go to a concert with me and I sing along, it sounds like a bunch of rabid cats in a burlap sack being slammed unmercifully against a concrete, cinder block wall. Back then, LPG did not have her own band and the sum total of her guitar playing was pretty much the C and G chords from Pink Floyds Wish You Were Here. This evening, we got to experience LPG in a proportion of her band Paige and the Thousand (....named after the thousand in Watership Down....which is, as mentioned earlier, why we became fast friends...that literary brilliance) and man, oh, man. Ive not been so proud of someone in a very long time. Lindsay blew that room away....much like Paul Simons tune.....Late in the Evening. And her guitar playing was amazing and impeccable and brought a tear to my eye. And I dont cry. Except for when I watch Brians Song. Wow. LPG.....you rock....thank you for making music like this for all of us. Boo. Ya. This is the end of the story. For now. There will always be more stories............ Bravo, Lindsay Paige Garfield. Bravo, indeed. (clapclapclapwhistlewhistlewhistleclapclapclap)
