This is a tale of a bad budgie. Once upon a time, Cara decided to visit her parents for Thanksgiving vacation. So, she took golden Charlie and crazy Jozie and loaded them into the car. Before leaving she thought It would be a nice treat if Vizzini the budgie could have her cage open for the week so she can fly down to visit her guinea pig homies who she loves oh so much. Unfortunately, the piggies live beneath the pigeon troll Humperdink who coos his territorial tendencies. But, Vizzini is an exceptional pilot and evades him with ease. So, away Cara went with doggy buddies, leaving Vizzini free for a week-long love affair with her buck-teethed boys. Three days after she left, her roommate JT who has been caring for the critters visits for the annual see-how-much-food-you-can-stuff-in-your-face-without-dying contest and reports that Vizzini is missing. She is neither in her cage nor with her piggies and cant be found anywhere. Oh no! After four more days of waiting and continued reports that no parakeets were heard or seen, Cara returned home to an empty cage. The search ranged from the ceiling fan to the shelves to behind the dresser to inside the other animals food bags. Did she fall somewhere and break herself? Did she get stuck under the bed? Did Humperdink amputate a leg? Did the piggies eat her??? The piggies werent talking. No Vizzini was found. Fearing the worst, Cara retired to her bed, surrounded by dogs but no birdie chirps. That night, she dreamed of a sickly Vizzini that she fought to get saved (literally, there were zombies). She awoke to the sound of seeds cracking. But, no, thats just Humperdink... Unless.... She pulled herself out of bed at the ungodly hour of 7am to find a smug, healthy-looking green budgie sitting in her cage and laughing. You clever bastard she stated. And there was much rejoicing. Conclusions: a) My bird has actually been a chameleon this whole time b) Theres an actual door to Narnia somewhere in my room c) Do not encourage interspecies relationships without supervision d) My bird-dog sucks at retrieving birds e) Fighting dream zombies is a great way to solve your problems.
