This is amazing -- read this link about tomorrow, Eid al-Adha. It commemorates Abrahams sacrifice or rather the request that he sacrifice Isaac…then there is a sacrifice of an animal with some of the meat going to the poor -- to remind us to share our blessings with others -- and that we can give things up to be closer to God…it is so striking because on Yom Kippur Jews also read about the sacrifice of Isaac…and also the theme is sacrifice or self-denial…such vivid proof of our shared heritage and our being all, that is Muslims and Jews, descended from our patriarch Abraham, and sharing some of the same key stories. islam.about/od/hajj/a/adha.htm
