This is an excellent topic which Terence McKenna touches on briefly during one of his lectures, which I would like to elaborate on; Culture is certainly NOT our friend because culture, as we know it, is MANUFACTURED by the ruling class through television, radio and other major centers of INFORMATION CONTROL to keep us dumbed down and preoccupied with stupid bullshit. To the uneducated mind, the very notion that television or radio is used to control public thought and opinion may seem preposterous and absurd but the father of public relations, Edward Bernays, from which we can trace the tactics of modern day television, wrote about this bluntly in his book Propaganda in which he stated; The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country. We are governed, our minds are molded, our tastes formed, our ideas suggested, largely by men we have never heard of. [PG. 37] This is not some conspiracy theory, it is FACTUAL information that is all available in the public domain. As a result of this sophisticated manipulation, rather than being concerned with changing our corrupt system where poverty is perpetuated and scarcity is considered normal, the common person has become more concerned with twerking or whats going on in the fabricated lives of celebrities they see on TV. This certainly is not accidental but the result of what Bernays clearly documented in his book which many consider to be a blue print of sorts. It should also be noted that this revolutionary book was written over 80 years ago. Since that time, the manipulation of human psychology has grown in ways that the average mind could not even comprehend because it is so advanced. As McKenna said, we have the capability to create a paradise on this planet. We can LITERALLY create a type of heaven on Earth but we are governed by PROFOUNDLY sick minded individuals who rule through war, deliberate scarcity, as well as forced poverty and MAJOR exploitation of the overwhelming majority of the global population. And this will NEVER change until we REJECT culture and WAKE UP to what is REALLY going on here, because while we remain entertained and psychologically subdued thing are getting worse for most of the planets population.
